Der buddhistische Tempel Wat Plai Laem liegt an der Nordostküste von Koh Samui. Derhöchster BergDer größte Teil der Insel ist Khao Pam oder Khao Thai Kwai. Eine Straße führt über den 600 m hohen Berg auf die andere Seite der Küste. Während der Fahrt kommen Sie an einigen Aussichtspunkten vorbei. Auch auf dem Berg istTarnim-Zaubergarten, das mitten im Dschungel liegt. Dies ist ein Skulpturengarten des Obstbauern, des Mönchs und des BildhauersNim Thongsuk, der den Garten 1976 angelegt hat. In der mehrere hundert Quadratmeter großen Anlage gibt es steinerne Buddha-Skulpturen, Engel, Tänzer, Musiker und Tiere. In der Mitte des Gartens befindet sich ein kleines Haus, in dem eine Skulptur des Mönchs selbst untergebracht ist.
Na Muang Wasserfall
Die natürlich entstandenen Na Muang Falls bestehen aus zwei Wasserfällen, die zu den schönsten der Insel zählen. Die Wasserfälle haben ihren Namen von den violetten Farbtönen der Felswände. Umgeben von einem Dschungel sind die Wasserfälle eine ideale Abkühlung an heißen Tagen. Steine und Baumwurzeln bilden hier eine natürliche Treppe.
Wat Khunaram
Der Tempel Wat Khunaram beherbergt den mumifizierten MönchLang Pordaeng. Wat Khunaram bietet seinen Besuchern einen einzigartigen Einblick in die buddhistische und thailändische Kultur. Loung Pordaeng starb 1973 in sitzender, meditativer Haltung und wird seitdem in einer Vitrine ausgestellt. Zu seinen Lebzeiten prophezeite der Mönch das genaue Datum seines Todes und dass sein Leichnam niemals verrotten würde. Bemerkenswerterweise zeigt der Körper des Mönchs selbst nach 30 Jahren kaum Anzeichen einer Verschlechterung. Daher wird es von den Einheimischen auch als buddhistisches Wunder angesehen.
Thong Marine Nationalpark

Wir empfehlen, den Tenderpier von Nathon etwas weiter zu verlassen, da mit dem Taxifahrer oft deutlich günstigere Preise ausgehandelt werden können.
Alternativ können Sie auch das sogenannte verwendenSongtaewtake – ein Pickup, der zum Sammeltaxi umgebaut wurde. Die beliebten Songtaews fahren immer bestimmte Strecken, sie halten per Handzeichen an und nehmen Sie mit. Der Preis hängt von der Route ab und variiert zwischen 20 und 70 Baht.
